Age estimation runs on the visitor's own device, using face-api.js (TensorFlow.js). No image, no biometric template is sent to your shop, to Klikage or to Pikali: only the adult / minor verdict is used. That path is free and unlimited, with no cost per check.
Once the check succeeds, the validated age is recorded on the customer account: the visitor never faces the camera again, even from another device. Customers already registered on the shop when the module is installed are treated as adults by default.

When estimation is not enough — doubt, strong legal requirement — the ID document check is operated by Didit, a certified digital-identity provider that carries the GDPR responsibility for that step. No document passes through your shop. This option consumes prepaid credits, with no expiry, valid across all your shops.
The customer requests a manual review and sends the documents you asked for, after giving consent. The request lands in the module's back office, you are notified by email, you approve or refuse in one click — and the document is destroyed automatically once the request is handled.
Server-side, only anonymous technical logs are kept: date, method, result. Enough to show that every buyer went through an age check, without having stored anything that could identify a person biometrically.
